She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora Jones and Robert Rhine; her husband Sonnie Shands, Jr.; and her brothers, Richard, Bobby and Wendall Jones.
She is survived by: her son Don Shands (Dwuna) of Varina, VA; her grandchildren, Tyler Mason of Richmond, VA and Denim Mason of Hopewell, VA; her daughter Dora Byrd Griffin (Henry) of Stony Creek, VA; her brothers, Roanell Jones of Hopewell, VA, Leon Jones of Hopewell, VA and Larry Jones of Hopewell, VA; her aunt Shirley Jones; her uncle Horace Phillips; her siblings-in-law, Alice Mae Shands, Brenda Carter (Melvin), Francine Tatum (Joseph), Darlene Shands, Willie Shands, Harold Shands and Tyrone Shands (Sandra); and her sister Estelle. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
