He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph Leonard; and his brother Leonard Wayne Slaughter. He is survived by: his parent Shirley Jean Bishop Slaughter; his daughters, Hope Doud Alicie (Tracey), Heather, Tabitha and Jasmine Slaughter; and his siblings, Connie Wynn, Cindy Gilliland (Chuck), Jamie Morini (Tim) and Mike Slaughter (Wanda). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 18971 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
