He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mease and Mattie Harmon Mease; his sisters, Willie Mae Claiborne and Anna James; and his brother-in-law Richard Claiborne.
He is survived by: his wife Celestine Mease; his children, Anthony Mease (Sylvia) and Wanda Coleman (Donnell); his brother-in-law Oliver James; and his close friends, Deacon Phillip, Shirley Covington and Edna Cunningham. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
