It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn P. Johnson Wright (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on October 8, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elnora Miles Brown and William Lewis Johnson, Sr.; her husband Hoy Dean Wright; her brothers, William Lewis Johnson, Jr., Theodore Johnson, Larry Johnson (Angela) and Leo Brown; and her daughter Peggy Wright Blanding.
She is survived by: her children, William Wright (Angela) and Patsy Bedford; her siblings, Leonard M. Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Claudette Johnson, Julius Brown (Melba), Julia Taylor (Ondra) and Dee Johnson; her grandchildren, Terrance Artis, Monique Swain (Clarence), Rosa Smith, Cassi Bedford and Maxfield Storm; her great grandchildren, Omarie, Josiah, Callum, Kalia and Claire; and her sister-in-law Lucy Johnson (Angela Johnson).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
