It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Grover Cleveland Clanton (Petersburg, Virginia), born in Dinwiddie, Virginia, who passed away on May 17, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Jane Robinson Clanton and Sidney Clanton; his siblings, Levi Clanton, Leonard "Sonny" Clanton, Sidney "Dick" Clanton Jr. (Ethel) and Corrine Williams; his sons, Cleveland "Bubba" Clanton (Ernie) and John MacArthur "Mac" Clanton (Darlene); and his grandchildren, Darren Clanton, Timothy Chavis, Ronnie Clanton (Gloria) and Kavan Tae Crenshaw.
He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Brooke and Jordyn Faulcon; his brother Isaac "Scooter" Clanton (Catherine) of Dinwiddie, VA; his siblings-in-law, Lilian Givens and Joe King Beasley Jr. of Petersburg, VA.; his granddaughters, Shayla and Danielle Clanton; his children-in-law, Lillie Clanton, Lula Hunter, Darlene Cheatham Clanton, Christine Clanton and James Faulcon; his grandsons, Ricky Mason, John Clanton Jr. and Shawn Faulcon; his nieces, Bertha "Cookie" Bland and Patricia "Pat" Beasley; and his nephew Thomas Williams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
