He is survived by: his wife Tammy Clark Abernathy; his sons, Eric Allen Abernathy and Timothy Allan Abernathy; his grandson Collan Mason; his stepmother Peggy Clark Abernathy; his sister Wanda Marie Jones; and his stepbrothers, David Eugene Clark and Bernard Lee Clark (Diana). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
