She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Mckeever and Ida Mckeever; her husband James Smith; and her sisters, Sallie Weaver and Geraldine Cunningham.

She is survived by: her sons, James Smith and Nelson Smith (Nadine); her grandsons, Nelson Smith, Jr. of Petersburg, Darnell Smith of Petersburg, Maurice Smith of Petersburg and Anthony Smith of Petersburg; her great grandchildren, Devin M. Carter and Makenna Rae Carter; and her friend Jeanette Berrios.
