It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Coleman (Petersburg, Virginia), who passed away on October 30, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Hicks and Pearl Hicks of Wilson, VA.; her daughters, Melinda Hicks, Donna M. Jones and Yolanda L. Peters; and her siblings, Willie "Jack" Hicks, Bernice F. Banks, Dorothy M. Banks and Minnie A. Hicks.
She is survived by: her husband Moses Coleman; her children, Jesse A. Miles (Donna L.) of Wilmington, NC, Cassandra A. Miles and Serena M. Miles of Petersburg, VA; her sister Rosemary Jenkins (Craig) of Chesterfield; her nieces, Linda Banks Jones and Regina V. Hicks; her stepson Juan Coleman; and her grandchildren, Danielle (Ashly Miles), Kenisha (Erica Willis), Shantale Jackson (Joshua Peters), Dominic Mason, Kenton (Quinton Dabney) and Jamar Miles. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; ten stepchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
