It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy M. Riggins of Petersburg, Virginia, who passed away on February 17, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Putnam Boone (Putney); her aunt Hattie; her uncle Troy; and her cousin Thurman Massenburg. She is survived by: her children, Eloise M. Boone of Maryland, Hazel Wilson of Petersburg, VA, Larry A. Riggins (Cheryl) of Petersburg, VA, Vanessa Wynn (William) of Petersburg, VA, Valencia Riggins-Simms (John) of Maryland, Hattie Riggins of Petersburg, VA, Cynthia Rose of Petersburg, VA and Lamont Riggins of Petersburg, VA. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Lord called and momma moved after putting up an honorable fight with Alzheimer's and Chronic Kidney Disease.
