He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Alexander Diggs, Sr. and Murtha Lee Anderson Diggs; his wife Mary Love Hamlin Diggs; his grandparents, Floyd, Addie Diggs, George and Mary Betty Anderson; his aunts and uncles, Floyd Diggs (Helen "Norine"), Othello Anderson (Helen), George Anderson (Jessie), Sylvester Anderson, Addie Bell Blackmon (Elder James), Pearl Amos (Willie) and Maggie Jones; and his nephew Nigel Todd.
He is survived by: his son Veldez Antonio Diggs of Petersburg; his grandchildren, Traveonta Diggs, Nykyea Wilson and Quavon Diggs of Petersburg; his siblings, Michael (Patricia) of Petersburg, Gilmore Lucky (Jamie) of Lompoc, CA, Glenn (Vicki) of Lompoc, CA, Herbert (Darlene) of Petersburg and Gilda Diggs of Petersburg, VA; and his uncle Herbert Anderson (Obeana) of Sutherland, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Prior to the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, he enjoyed attending meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall and studying the Bible with the Witnesses.
