Roberts (Petersburg, Virginia), born in Ellaville, Georgia, who passed away on February 22, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Belle Roberts and Willie Edward Roberts; his siblings, Vanilla, Ruth, Willie Edward, Jr., James, Elizabeth, Jessie, Olivia and Fred; and his former wife Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce M. Roberts; his grandchildren, Jaismane and Donald, II; his great grandchild Jayden; his children, Darrell J. Roberts, Donald Charles Roberts of Troy, MI., Ruby Lee Sawyer (Barbara R. Arnold), Phyllis Davis, Fort Meade, MD and Dwayne J. Roberts (Kim) of Rochester, NY; and his sister Ruby Lee Joseph of Rochester, NY. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives, and special friends.
In lieu of floral arrangements monetary donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and Crater Community Hospice, in memory of SGM (Ret) Charles A. Roberts.
