She is survived by: her son Damien Thomas-Claiborne (Kenya); her friend Richard Claiborne; her sisters, Ella Thomas of New Haven, CT and Ethel "Boo" Edmonds of Petersburg, VA; and her cousin Gail Ledbetter. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
