He was predeceased by: his siblings, James Bess, Kermit Bess and Gloria Jean Bess. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Bess; his children, Robert Bess (Lynne), Michael Bess and Kimberly Shanks (Gene); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Bess, Jonathan Bess, Owen Shanks and Gaven Shanks.
