He is survived by: his wife Lillian; his daughters, Varel Nichols and Gail Whitney; his grandchildren, Racquel Robinson, Chaz Nichols and Torren Whitney; and his sisters, Sadie Williams and Gertrude Franklin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
