With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benjamin Brown Jr. of Petersburg, Virginia, born in Hemingway, South Carolina, who passed away on March 27, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Benjamin Brown, Sr.; his siblings, Luetta Davis, Rudol Grate and Johnny Lewis; and his grandson Benjamin Aarion Brown III.
He is survived by: his wife Edna E. Brown of New Haven, CT; his children, Celestine Lawton (Kevin) of New Haven, CT, Benjamin Brown II (Tresha) of Petersburg, VA, Jason Toles of Petersburg, VA, Jarvis George (Leslie) of Greensboro, NC, Brooks Woodberry of Florence, SC and Jessica Sumpter of Lexington, SC; and his sister Sandra Lee Allison (John) of Johnsonville, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
