It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara A. Simms of Petersburg, Virginia, who passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Simms of Petersburg; her parents, William Quarles and Levenia Quarles; and her siblings, Gloria of Washington, Sandra Matthews and William "Reno" Quarles.
She is survived by: her children, Miles Simms, Beverly Keeton, Louis Simms, Larry Simms and Dena Simms; her grandchildren, Samanthia Hunt, Jermaine Powell, Anthony Simms, Danielle Keeton, Marvin Simms, Mariah Simms and Samantha Simms; and her sisters, Wilma Massenburg and Elizabeth Davis. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
