He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and May; and his brothers, Robert, James and Elmer May.
He is survived by: his close friend Alexis White; his children, Christian Maye, Shaletha Battle (David), Riquita Doster (Jacob) and Ashia Adams (Alexander); his grandchildren, Colito Pettaway, Tylique Pettaway and Aaliyah Doster; and his siblings, Elder Earl Maye, Sr. (Esther), William Maye, Ethel Hayes, Eunice Briggs, Gladys A. Trotter (Calvin) and Sylvia Maye. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
