It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norma Jean Jessee of Pennington Gap, Virginia, who passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hurley Underwood and Pauline Hall Underwood of Lee County, VA; her siblings, Margaret Ann Underwood, Naomi Rebecca Underwood and Hurley Eugene Underwood; her husband Steven Jesse; her children, Steven Jessee (Barbara) of St, Joel Jessee of Pennington Gap, Shelia Garwood (Carlos) of Jonesville, VA and Melissa Smith of Washington; her brother Earl Underwood of Dryden, VA; her grandchildren, Logan Garrett (Sean), Dylan Hensley, Tyler Garwood, Jalaina Jessee, Steven Matthew Jessee, Abigail Chernewski (Bobby), Jonathan Smith, Gabriel Parker, Bryant Parker, Joel Caleb Jessee and Joshua Aaron Jessee; her great grandchildren, Keaton Garrett, Landon Garrett, Kahlila, Ashanti, A'donis, June, Steven (A'Cyrus) and Emonee; and her pets, Max, Corky, Gizmo, Precious and Gauge. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
