He is survived by: his wife Mary Duff Schauer; his daughters, Rae Augenstein (Craig) of Johnston City and Rebecca "Becky" Schauer Robertson of Lexington, S. C.; his granddaughter Kennedy Rae Robertson of Lexington, S. C.; his sister Ann Pickens (Harrell) of Grand Lake; his children, Linnea, Lovisa of Stockholm and Sweden; and also, Benjamin Van Zee and Sophie Van Zee of Asheville, N. C.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Christian Church Pennington Gap Foreign Missions Fund.
