He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gilbert; his grandchildren, Brittany King (Brandon), J. Z., Caleb Hurst, Brianna Hurst, Makayla Gilbert, Corey King and Hunter King; and also, Mag Collins, Ruth Lane, Helen McDaniel, Sue Ramsey, Bill Gilbert and David Gilbert.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Van-Huss Cemetery.
