He was predeceased by: his parents, Darvin Sr. Barker and Ruby Waddell Barker; and his sister Maureen Bishop. He is survived by: his sons, Alan Barker (Traci) of Nickelsville, VA and Richard Barker (Alane) of Jonesville, VA; and his grandchildren, Matthew Barker, Gunnar Barker, Gage Barker, Chloe Jones and Whitney Arnold.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:50 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). The military honors was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lee Memorial Gardens (1986 Hickory Cir Rd, Pennington Gap, VA 24277).
