He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edgar and Dessie Howard Simmons (Hartman); his wife Virginia Kathleen Simmons (Kile); and his grandson Michael Adam Simmons. He is survived by: his sons, Walter R. Simmons (Eva) of Brandywine, WV and Jerry K. Simmons (Peggy) of Greenwood, SC; and his grandchildren, Nick Simmons, Brett, Kylene, Chris, Jason Simmons, Nikki Midkiff and Bobby Keesecker. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
