He was predeceased by: his parents, George Allen and Martha Matherly Matthews; and his siblings, Merritt, Allen, Wesley, Wade, Richard and Emily Jefferson.
He is survived by: his sisters, Norma M. Ramsey, Judy M. Reynolds, Ann Haskins (Ronnie) and Bonnie Reynolds (Sammie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
