She was predeceased by: her husband Walter "Tuppie" Eugene Shelton; her parents, Luther Saunders and Annie Mae Saunders; and her siblings, George Tosh, Edmond Powell, Mary, Ruth, Daisy, Augusta, Reva and Betty.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn Poindexter (Fred), Ann Brodie and Eugenia Morrison (Kenny); and her grandchildren, Amanda Quarles (Rob Dickinson), Brian Quarles, Jason Palmer, Kristie Palmer (Carl Austin), Megan Morrison and Bryce Morrison. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
