He was predeceased by: his former wife Martha Anne Barker Sawyers; and his brother Doug Sawyers. He is survived by: his wife Martha Morris Sawyers; his daughters, Michelle Heath (Ricky) of Martinsville, VA and Marcia Payne (Craig) of Dry Fork, VA; his stepdaughter JoAnna Coleman (John) of Roanoke, VA; his siblings, Becky Agnew (James) of Bassett, VA and Charles Sawyers of Spencer, VA.; and his grandchildren, Brittany Bryan (Justin), Kelli Walker (T. J.), Gavin Payne, Brandon Miller (Tabatha), Brian Heath, Colby Payne, Allison Coleman and Katie Coleman.
