He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley V. Smith and Nathaniel H. Hurt Sr. Those. He is survived by: his stepmother Geraldine Hurt of Bronx, NY; his godson Ethan Pointdexter of Penhook, VA; and his siblings, Nathaniel H. Hurt Jr. of Roanoke, VA, Robert Smith of Roanoke, VA, David Smith (Candice) of Saint Petersburg, FL and Elizabeth Hurt-Lawrence of Bronx, NY. He is also survived by five nephews and one niece; three great-nephews and two great-nieces.
