We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2020, at the age of 74, Larry Akers of Pembroke, Virginia, born in Pearisburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Arthur Akers and Hazel Elana Wheeler Akers; and his brother Phillip Akers. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Maria Shrader Akers of Pembroke; his children, Laura Elizabeth Akers Lilly (Gerald) of Rocky Gap and Thomas Arthur Akers of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Zachary Charlton Richardson (Hannah), Mollie Elizabeth Richardson (Victor Billings) and Kellie Marie Richardson; his great grandchildren, Parker Benjamin Billings and Cooper Charlton Richardson; his stepgrandchildren, Heather Lilly and Katlyn Lilly; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jasmine, Brie, Destiny, Treasure, True and Charlie; and his siblings, Mark Akers (Donna) of Narrows, Stanley Akers of Narrows, Linda Wisman (Jim) of Botetourt, Sarah Hyatt of Narrows and Rebecca Epling (Jeff) of Rich Creek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Giles County Animal Shelter.
