He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jerry Wayne Smith and Sandra Cumbee Smith; his brother John Wayne Smith (Angela) of Newport; his nieces and nephews, Carmen Shelton, John Wyatt Smith and Jaxon Wayne Smith; his aunt Helen Griggs; and his cousin Cathy Dowdy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Jerry's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
