He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Beatrice Parks of Roanoke, Virginia, Daniel Parks of Watertown and Dan Parks Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia.; his grandchildren, Danasia Parks of Chesapeake and Crystaree Smith of Roanoke, Virginia; his sister Doris Shipman; his parents, Molly Parks Peoples and Ernest Shoveller; and his stepfather Robert Clarence "Bob" Peoples.
