He was predeceased by: his father Edward Floyd Mahaffey (Ed); and his sisters, Charlene Mahaffey Williams and Trevia Mahaffey Jennings. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Dawn Steele; his granddaughters, Hannah Elizabeth Steele and Kaitlyn Michelle Steele; his sister Shelby Mahaffey; his nieces, Julie Parsons, Jessica Pritt and Sheri Kosgei; his nephew Travis Norfleet; and his grandchildren, Diesel Smoke and Maggie Mae.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House or the Giles Boosters. Duke was an avid supporter of the Ronald McDonald House and donated thousands of aluminum tabs per year to this program.
