He was predeceased by: his siblings, Tommy Via, Bobby Via and Sue Via Amos; his former wife Arlene Burgess Via; and his nephew Cap Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Nannie M. Via; his children, Vicki Via, Michael Via (Wendell Roberson) and Diane Collins (Barry); his granddaughter Amber Martin (Steven); his great grandchild Sierra Freeman (Cory); and his great great grandchild Ember Elaine Freeman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Riverview Baptist Church (219 Big Stony Creek Rd, Ripplemead, VA 24150). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Riverview Baptist Church (219 Big Stony Creek Road Ripplemead, Virginia 24150), or to the families of Giles County, Virginia who are recovering from the devastating floods of Hurricane Helene (Giles County Disaster Relief Fund, which is set up through any branch of the National Bank of Blacksburg or you may visit http://www.zeffy.com).
