He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Johnson; and his children, Johnny Edward Johnson (Tammy) of Pearisburg, Jerry Allen Johnson (Kezia) of Narrows and Judy White (Gary White Jr.) of Narrows. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
