He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Poteat; his children, Michelle Alderson (Troy) and Steve Handy (Carrie); his grandchildren, Britney Chodkowski (Andrew), Taylor Handy (Brad), Keanu Alderson (Jennifer), Emily Poteat, Ethan Poteat, Evan Poteat and Makayla Handy (Arlen); and his siblings, Elizabeth Nye, Donna Schwisow (Ray), Shirley Pleasant, Wesley Mims Jr. and Ray Mims. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless friends.
