She was predeceased by: her father Carl Peterson. She is survived by: her husband Helmut "Monte" Schmid; her mother Rosalie Peterson of Parksley; her sister Jennifer Cording (Mark) of Assawoman; her nephew Gunnar Cording; and her niece Ava Cording. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial donations may be made to FACES (Friends of Animal Control Eastern Shore), which raises funds to treat their dogs and cats to make them more adoptable. Donations may be mailed to 18299 Killmontown Road, Melfa, Va. 23410.
