She was predeceased by: her husband Herbert Dennis Thornes; her parents, Prentiss James Ayres, Sr. and Leila Mall Taylor Ayres; and her siblings, Prentiss James Ayres, Jr., Dorothy Taylor (Tommy) and Jeanette Thornes (Johnny).
She is survived by: her daughter Lynn Gagliardi (Vince) of Melfa, VA; her brother Kenneth Ayres (Beverly) of Bloxom, VA; her granddaughters, Alisha Leslie (Ryne) and Samantha Gagliardi; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Ayres, Betty Lou Jones (Carlisle), Sandra Richardson (Troy), Quinn Thornes (Georgie) and Keith Thornes (Chantel). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home (25046 Parksley Rd, Parksley, VA 23417). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
