He is survived by: his children, Karl Eckard of Charlotte and Kathie Eckard Herrera (Juan) of Gainesville, FL; his grandchildren, Thomas Herrera (Cristi), Joseph Herrera (Megan) and Caroline Herrera; and his great grandchildren, Sofia, Nico, Max, Joseph and Oliver.
