He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Ellen Childress and George William Kress; and his siblings, Ella Kress Johnson, Janie Kress and Sammy Kress.
He is survived by: his siblings, John Thomas Kress of Pamplin, Delores Moon of Lynchburg, Teresa Jennings of Pamplin, Virgina "Gini" Kress (Wayne) of Appomattox and Verta Whittaker of Rustburg; and his brother-in-law Ray Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
