He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cole Hackney and Mildred Alberta Hackney. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hackney; his children, Tammy Smith (Michael) of Hamilton, VA, Thomas Christopher Hackney of Leesburg, VA, James Travis Hackney of Inwood, WV and Brian Jason Hackney (Nickole) of Purcellville, VA; his grandchildren, Sarah Contreras (Luis), Travis Hackney, Brett Gourley, Brooke Hackney, Kaylynn Smith, Taylor Hackney, Drew Hackney, Camryn Hackney and Kyren Hackney; and his siblings, Carol Hopkins of Jacksonville, FL and Ronald Hackney of Paeonian Springs, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's honor to Hero Homes Loudoun or Boulder Crest Foundation.
