She is survived by: her father Robert Avis Shifflett; her spouse Ray; her son Philip R. Mahanes; her mother Ruby White Shifflett; and her siblings, Crandall Shifflett (Barbara) of Blacksburg, David Shifflett of Stanardsville and Janice Conway of Gettysburg. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
