He is survived by: his son David M. Strole of Richmond; his grandchildren, Sarah Holzhalb, Sandy Kerner, David Strole II and Susie Kerner; his close friend Barbara Elmore of Orange; his sister Rebecca S. Lovett of Winchester; and also John Munnikhuysen. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
