He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Hawkins Sr. and Phoebe W. Hawkins; his brothers, Franklin D Hawkins and John A Hawkins Jr.; and his grandson Montgomery Hamm.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Hendricks of Keswick; his son Micheal A Hawkins; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Hamm (Jessie Shiflett) and Jolene Hamm (Alonzo Johnson); his stepgrandchildren, Tristan Winn, Landon, Rylan Hamm-Shiflett, Amelia, Griffin and Rowan Hamm-Johnson; and his siblings, Shirley Irby, Joyce Haney and Phoebe Brooks. He is also survived by grandchildren and one natural great-grandchild.
