It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gayle McGhee Ryder (Orange, Virginia), born in Gordonsville, Virginia, who passed away on February 23, 2020, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Palmer "Pat" McGhee and Myrtle Morris Garton; her stepfather Warner Graton; her brothers-in-law, Thomas Hope Green and Delmar Davis; and her nephew Green Jr..
She is survived by: her husband John Henry Ryder; her daughters, Chasity Rickett (Jack) and Crystal Henderson (Mike); her sister Joan "Pat" Davis; her niece Page Almond (Bart); her grandchildren, Cameron Rickett, Carter Rickett, Kylie Rickett, Logan Douglas and Jocelyn Henderson; and her great grandchild Braydon Michael Rickett.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the North Pamunkey Pre School, or the Hospice of the Piedmont, or the Orange Volunteer Fire Company.
