It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Whitmore (Onancock, Virginia), born in Sanford, Virginia, who passed away on December 16, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Ronnie Eugene Whitmore; her parents, John Nathan Godwin and Irene White Godwin; and her siblings, Peggy Miller and Johnny N. Godwin, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Tana Miles Brittingham of Smithfield, Lou Ann Burkhead (David) of Gargatha, Anita Burkhead of Parksley, VA and Shari Gary (Jerry) of Smithfield; her sisters, Louetta Gibbons of Onancock, VA, Ann Pruitt of Pocomoke City, MD and Roberta Chance of Sanford; her grandchildren, Autumn, Austin Brittingham, Mackenzie and Olivia Burkhead; and her close friend Dallas "Butch" Thomas of Pocomoke City. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
