She was predeceased by: her parents, Mason James Taylor and Mary Elizabeth Wessells Taylor; her husbands, George "Sonny" Nelson and Wayne Roger Baylis; and her brother Donald Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Timothy Wayne Baylis (Jennifer) of Eastville, VA, Tammy Baylis of Guilford, Jeffery Roger Baylis (Jennifer) of Guilford, Jaime Baylis Meilhammer (Bruce, Jr.) of Athens, GA and Christopher T. Baylis of Modest Town, VA; her grandchildren, Courtney, Katlyn, Lindsey, Brittany and Chelsea; her stepgrandson Craig; and her great grandchildren, Brennan, Jaxon and Wesley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
