“To Pete's family: I have just learned of his death from the Duke alumni magazine. Pete was a friend and fraternity brother when we were both at Duke. I haven't seen him since 1969 but I have never forgotten him. A fine young man, a good friend, an entertaining companion. Reading his obituary I can see that he made the most of his life: what an impressive man he was. I sympathize with you in your loss and just want to say, as one who knew him when he was 18, he was a great guy. Merritt Moseley”

“Deborah, Robert, Matthew: Chances are you've never heard my name. I haven't seen Bob since the day he graduated from AFA - June 4, 1967. He was one year ahead of me but we had an unusual connection. We both loved Spanish. We decided to attend the University of Madrid for summer courses in the summer of '67 (I believe). I made a poor decision that put the kibosh on our summer of fun. Bob was smart and kind. I'm sorry to hear your loss but gratified to read about his life. God bless! David Yoho”
