He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Jones and Gladys Guy Smith; and his sister Ellen Jones Custis (Milton Nock Custis, Jr.). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his children, Dr. John Burton of Gainesville, FL, Julie Halstead (David) of Blountsville, TN and Arin Bates of Atlanta, GA; and his grandchildren, Ashley Murrell, Hannah Gavin and Nick Bates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
