He is survived by: his wife Ida Vandyke Childress of Oakwood, VA; his children, Tammy Vandyke (Scott) of Abingdon, VA, Scottie Childress (Becky) of Georgetown, KY, Becky Davis (Danny) of Grundy, VA and David Childress (Tammy) of Raven, VA.; his grandchildren, Jarrod Vandyke of Abingdon, VA, Kevin Davis (Laken) of Grundy, VA, Abby Looney (Cody) of Grundy, VA, Matthew Childress (Corrina) of Georgetown, KY, Johnnie Childress of Raven, VA and Amy Childress of Georgetown, KY; and his great grandchildren, Bailey, Oliver Looney of Grundy, VA, Aruthur, A. J. Childress of Georgetown, KY, Brayleigh and Brayden Davis of Grundy, VA. He is also survived by two sisters and four brothers.
