He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Earl Keene and Julia Caroline Horn Keene; and his siblings, Myrtle Horn, Flossie Horn, Hazel Gouge, Lovis Owens, Wanda Sparks, Curtis Keene, Herman Keene and Harvey Keene.

He is survived by: his siblings, Oakie Pettry (Larry) of Statesville, NC, Opal Davis of Oakwood, VA and Roger Keene (Phyllis) of Oakwood, VA; his siblings-in-law, Adel Keene of Pilgrims Knob, VA, Juanita Keene of Pilgrims Knob, VA and Larry Sparks of Oakwood, VA.; and his close friends, Cheryl Owens, Ola Mullins and Phyllis Vandyke. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, from 1:00 p. m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p. m. In observance of COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be observed, and the wearing of masks is required for attendance.
