He is survived by: his children, Ira Matney (Deborah) of Lynchburg, VA, Ernest Matney (Lynn) of Lebanon, VA, Jeffery Matney (Tina) of Cartersville, VA and Billy Matney (Jill) of Oakwood, VA; and his sisters, Lenora and Carrie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
