It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Wayne Dorton of Oakwood, Virginia, who passed away on August 29, 2022, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl L. Dorton and Leona Dorton Keen (Shell); his stepparent Roby Keen; his brothers, Charlie Dorton (Margaret), Kenneth Dorton and Harold Dorton, Sr. (Sandra); his brother-in-law Daniel Anglin, Sr.; his stepsiblings, Dorothy Keen McGlothlin (Clinton), Dolly Keen Wilson, Mary Keen Hylton, Lula Keen McGlothlin (Carlos) and Arvil Johnson; and his brother Curtis Mullins, Sr. (Carl).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ray Dorton of Vansant; his children, Amanda Ellen Dorton of Vansant and Byron Joseph; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Renea Dorton; his sisters, Evelyn Dorton Hale (Don) of North Tazewell, VA and Helen Dorton Anglin of Unionville, VA; his sister-in-law Deena Wenger Montgomery of Grassy Meadows, WV; his mother-in-law Ola Ray Dotson of Vansant; his brother-in-law David Ray (Henrietta) of Vansant; his stepsiblings, Don Keen (Violet) of Gainesville, VA, Georgie Keen Johnson of Honaker, VA, Frank Wilson of Rienzi, MS and Rondeau Hylton of Ashland, OH.; and his nephew Masonic. He is also survived by brothers, and friends.
The family requests that visitors wear masks.
In lieu of flowers, per Carl's request, the family asks that donations be made to Drill Chapel Church of Honaker, Virginia, or Camp Jacob of Clintwood, Virginia.
